Whether that be going straight to the workforce, taking a gap year, or attending a community college, four year university, or trade school we want all students to have a diploma and a plan. Go Barons!

Awesome program for young women interested in film! The AT&T Hello Sunshine Filmmaker Lab will bring girls to Los Angeles to learn filmmaking from the pros like Reese Witherspoon! Interested in serving our country? Come learn about the congressional nomination process for the Military, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard Academy at 6:30pm on Wednesday May 30th at the Orange County Water Works Boardroom in FV. RSVP online to [email protected]


Coastline ROP is offering a limited number of summer school classes, one will be a Computer Graphics Class on Fountain Valley High School campus.  If you are interested in seeing the complete list of classes offered, or to sign up for a class, see Ms Sanders in the Student Services area in the administration building.

College and Career Team

Irene Yu, College and Career Center Specialist


Ms. Yu is an experienced counselor with a diverse background preparing students with the skills to be successful after high school. She is an FVHS alumni and continued her education at Chapman University for her Bachelors and Columbia University for her Masters. Ms. Yu is an avid dancer, but can often be seen eating and writing restaurant reviews all across Southern California. She loves Japanese cuisine and has a soft spot for Porto's potato balls. 

Lesa Sorenson, College and Career Center Assistant  


Ms. Soreson is the face of the College and Career Center and excited to help students with their college and career endeavors. She helps coordinate college rep visits and is a liaison for job opportunities. In her free time she enjoys tending to her blossoming garden and loves to stay fit by working out. 

Marvene Sanders, ROP/CTE Career Specialist


Mrs. Sanders is the ROP/CTE Career Specialist and has served the Baron community since 2008. She has a Bachelors in Business/Management from the University of Phoenix and works on enrolling students for ROP/CTE classes. In addition, she works closely in helping students explore different career pathways. She enjoy spending time with her three grandchildren and taking long road trips, her most recent being Topeka, Kansas!
